- Elephants and magpies were sent by the fairy to help Yu Shin clean his land that 25 men had worked night and day to fix up, but didn't make a dent in
- Ruled his new home of kindness and wisdom, married the maiden and his servants were happy
- His good fortune was beginning to draw attention to others, applauded his prosperity
- traveled 11 days to the emperor and became the next of the dragon throne
- With his excellent character and trials, he was awarded for his good deeds
- Was a test of his teacher who was the emperors minister, and his servants were sisters and brothers of the emperor
I like the story of Yu Shin because it represents a life of pushing through trials. Having adversity and overcoming all obstacles even when times felt hopeless and nothing seemed like it would be right. Not only was he summoned to the land of practically nothing, he trusted that everything would work out and was later rewarded. While Yu Shin, could have had a bitter attitude on life, he continued to push through and strive through his struggles. He treated all with compassion, love, and kindness, which is nothing that he received growing up. I think with this story, I could alter it to be the start of my journey in my story. I'm not sure in the exact way yet, but I know I will use this story for sure.
